This policy explains what personal information Fippence collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over your data. We've written it in plain language — if anything is unclear, email us at administrator@plush-soft.com.
1. Who we are
Fippence ("we", "our", "us") is a mobile application operated by Plush Software ("Plush-Soft"), a Jamaican software company. Our registered address is Kingston, Jamaica. We are the data controller for the personal information we process about you.

2. Information we collect
We collect the following categories of information:
Information you give us directly:
- Name and email address (when you join the early access waitlist or create an account)
- WhatsApp number (if provided voluntarily for updates)
- Parish of residence and preferred supermarket (to improve local relevance)
- Device type (iOS or Android) to prioritise beta rollout
Information collected automatically when you use the app:
- Items added to your cart and shopping totals (to provide the core service)
- App usage data (screens visited, features used, session duration)
- Device information (device model, operating system version, app version)
- Approximate location (parish-level only, not GPS tracking) if you allow it
- Crash reports and error logs (to fix bugs and improve stability)
Information we do NOT collect:
- Payment card details (we do not process any payments)
- Precise GPS location without your explicit permission
- Contacts, photos, or files from your device
- Any biometric data
3. How we use your information
We use your personal information for the following purposes:
- Providing the service — to operate the Fippence app and give you a running grocery total
- Beta access management — to notify you when your early access spot is ready
- Product improvement — to understand how people use the app and fix problems
- Price database improvement — aggregated, anonymised shopping data helps us keep prices accurate
- Communications — to send you product updates, beta invites, and important notices (you can opt out any time)
- Legal compliance — to comply with applicable laws in Jamaica and other jurisdictions
We will never use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with those listed above without your consent.
4. Legal basis for processing
We process your personal information on the following legal grounds:
- Your consent — for optional data collection (WhatsApp number, location) and marketing communications
- Contract performance — to provide the service you've signed up for
- Legitimate interests — to improve our product and prevent fraud, where your rights are not overridden
- Legal obligation — where required by Jamaican law
5. Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We share data only with:
- Service providers — companies that help us operate Fippence (e.g. cloud hosting, email delivery, analytics). These providers are contractually bound to protect your data and may only use it to provide services to us.
- Form processing — waitlist submissions are processed through Formspree (formspree.io), subject to their privacy policy.
- Law enforcement — if required by a valid legal order, court order, or to protect the safety of our users or others.
6. Data retention
We keep your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the service or comply with legal obligations:
- Waitlist data: retained until the beta period ends or you ask us to delete it
- Account data: retained while your account is active, then deleted within 90 days of account closure
- Usage logs: retained for up to 12 months, then anonymised or deleted
- Legal records: retained for up to 7 years where required by Jamaican law
7. Your rights
You have the following rights regarding your personal information:
- Access — request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Deletion — ask us to delete your personal information ("right to be forgotten")
- Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
- Withdrawal of consent — withdraw consent for optional processing at any time
- Portability — receive your data in a machine-readable format

8. Cookies and tracking
The Fippence website uses minimal cookies. We do not use advertising or behavioural tracking cookies. We may use:
- Essential cookies required for the site to function
- Analytics cookies (anonymised) to understand how people navigate our site
You can disable cookies in your browser settings at any time.
9. Data security
We take the security of your personal information seriously. We use industry-standard measures including:
- Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS) for all data in transit
- Secure cloud storage with access controls
- Regular security reviews of our practices
No method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure. If we become aware of a security breach affecting your data, we will notify you promptly.
10. Children's privacy
Fippence is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have inadvertently collected such information, please contact us immediately and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify registered users by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
